NuPrime STA-9X is a 2 x 130W Class A+D stereo amplifier that bridges to a 330W mono post-amplifier and is designed with enhanced even-order harmonic circuitry for the most appealing features that mimic the sound of tubes and Class A amplifiers without the drawbacks and limitations of Class A sound. The STA-9X amplifier is based on the ULCAM (Super Linear Class A Module) + Class D design of the STA-9 and is improved on the AMG-STA design concept. By adding a powerful high-impedance single-ended non-negative feedback amplifier circuit and dual feedback Class D power stages to the preamplifier stage, the STA-9X sounds warm and dynamic with exceptional speed and clarity. NuPrime amplifiers improve traditional Class D switch designs by using self-oscillating circuitry to generate pulse-width modulation. The STA-9X switches at 750kHz (the highest on the market), far exceeding the disc's 44.1kHz sample rate. Most Class D amplifiers have switching frequencies of 300kHz or less.
NuPrime's new linear power supplies complement high-efficiency toroidal transformers to reduce high-frequency noise and enhance low-frequency performance. The damping effect of NuPrime's proprietary isolation feet absorbs and eliminates vibrations that degrade audio performance.
